As I've stated in some past posts, I have a lot to gripe about, domestically with George W. Bush. His spending is worse than a drunken sailor's because, at least drunken sailors are spending their own money.
But this post at http://econopundit.com is just delicious. I don't expect any trolls to comprehend it.
Can we paraphrase George Patton maybe? It might go something like this:No jerk of a leader ever made a country safer by seeking a diplomatic solution. The jerk of a leader makes the country safer by getting the other country to seek a diplomatic solution.
Seriously, do you think Mo'hammer Qa'Daffy just woke up several days ago and said, "Ya know, I just don't like being thought of badly by the U.N. I think I'll just make it clear to everybody that I don't have any WMDs and don't intend to pursue them any more, yeah, that's the ticket."
Maybe he was watching FoxNews and thought, "Damn, living in a septic tank under a mud hut for months and months. What a way to go. What if the CIA knows about my weapons programs? How long before they come after me? After all, I remember when that cowboy Reagan got pissed off at me, and he didn't have nearly the sophisticated weapons that the new cowboy has. I mean, this is like the difference between bow and arrow to the M4 (formerly the M16, but with infrared and laser sighting).
In reality, the modern "Bush Doctrine" is simply the Teddy Roosevelt doctrine revised and modified. "Walk softly and carry a big stick" is now just slightly more complicated. Roosevelt was smart enough to know that if you want to avoid trouble, you give everybody the impression that you have more firepower than anybody else and MOST importantly, that you are plenty willing to use it.
Today, the U.S. has so succumbed to politcal fashion that we have had to play catch up under Bush 43. Clinton so demonstrated to the rest of the world that we were hedonistic and gutless that he invited the attacks of 11 SEP 2001. Bush has reversed that nonsense by our actions in Ashcanistan and Ir-rock, and sent a very clear message to Libya, Lebanon, Syria, North Korea, et al; that the U.S. is not just going to sit around and wait for you to grow a mushroom cloud over American soil.
And for all you walking pieces of cat squeeze, who believe that "war is not the answer," I've got news for you:
"War is not the answer if you are a terrorist nation or group or individual, hell bent on visiting destruction on the United States of America, because if you mess with us, we WILL destroy you."
The pathetic morons who ride around with bumper stickers that say, "Visualize World Peace" may never get a clue about human nature, a.k.a. "psychology."
I've never seen a bully quit being a bully because someone talked to him. I've only seen bullies stop being bullies because someone beat the ever living shit out of him. I know. I've never been taller than 5'8"
